A Kidney biopsy is a system used to remove kidney tissue for microscopic examination. It is done under Sonography direction.
The patient needs to get admitted on the morning of the procedure and need to be under complete bed rest for 6-7 hours after the procedure. He can resume his normal activities a couple of days after the procedure.

Reason of Transplant Kidney Biopsy
The procedure can verify if the donor kidney is working well. Over a time damage to the kidney from the following may occur:
- Poor blood Flow or scarring
- Viral or bacterial infections
- Evidence of kidney injury from certain drugs
- Evidence that a prior kidney disease has returned
- Evidence that a new kidney disease has begun (often the one that injured the original kidneys)
